Project includes cooling tower replacement. Cooling tower will replace smaller tower that was required to provide the cooling requirements for one 200 ton chiller and is not upgradeable in capacity. The requested equipment will provide increased capacity which will provide cooling capacity for chiller and the factory compressor which is currently not recycling any of the cooling water required. Location is at United States Penitentiary, Terre Haute, Indiana. Cooling tower with the capacity to handle mill load of one TRANE CVHE 020GA (204 ton) chiller and one Ingersol-Rand, Model SSR-XF125 compressor. Chiller produces approximaely 3,141,000 BTU per hour. Compressor produces an additional 400,000 BTU per hour.Chiller requirement: approximaely 660 GPM, 95 degrees (f) hot water to 85 degrees (F), cold water and 80 degrees (f) wetbulb. Compressor requirement: Approximately 50 GPM, 105 degrees (F) hot water to 85 degrees (F) cold water and 85 degrees (F) wetbulb. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000.00 and $100,000.00. Project completion is 90 days after Notice to Proceed is issued. The SIC for this project is 1711.
