The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has a requirement for the procurement of additional F414 Engine component parts in support of the F/A-18 F414 Engine Program. NAVAIR intends to negotiate a modification under fixed price incentive Contract N00019-97-C-0114. The General Electric Company is the designer, developer and sole manufacturer of the F/A-18 F414 aircraft engine and, as such, the only firm currently possessing the requisite technical knowledge and expertise, facilities, tooling, and special test equipment necessary to perform these efforts within the required timeframe.
