A Step Down Unit is a observation unit for potential cardiac patients, or patients recently cared for in an intensive care environment. Asbestos abatement is expected, therefore, a PIH on the design team is a requirement, as is hospital design experience. Area of consideration is limited to A/E firms located within a 100 mile radius of the medical center determined by the Rand McNally Road Atlas. Estimated Cost Range for Construction $2 mil -- $5 mil.
