The United States Park Police have several 4 Door Ford Crown Victoria's; 4 Door Chevrolet Caprice's and Chevrolet Suburban's from model year 1988 through 1996 that require Complete Restoration. 1. The Contractor MUST have an extensive background in restoring vehicles to include (if necessary), Complete engine rebuild; transmission overhaul; repair or replacement of fuel systems; suspensions, drive train, brakes, exhaust system and electricial system as necessary and to be able to fully certify in writting that the vehicles will meet or exceed factory standards for safe operation and meet all safety requirements of the State of Virginia; State of Maryland and the District of Columbia. 2. The contractor will be responsible for picking and returning the vehicles to Washington D.C. 3. The Contractor will perform a free thorough inspection of each vehicle to determine what repairs or replacements are necessary to place the vehicles back into service. 4. The contractor will provide the United Statses Park Police with a written itemized cost proposal for each vehicle outlining what repairs are required and the United States Park Police will make the final determination whether or not to make those repairs. 5. In the event the U.S. Park Police determines the cost to be prohibative and decides not to repair the vehicle, the Contractor will be reimbursed for transportation cost only.
