The Oregon Army National Guard is intending to sole source this procurement to Simplex Manufacturing. The Oregon Army National Guard is in need of a 1,000-gallon fire fighting water bucket to be used with a UH 60A/L aircraft. The bucket is to be semi-rigid double bonded polyurethane construction with a heavy-duty hydraulic cylinder, 35' cable assembly, able of variable water dispensing levels and withstanding the impact of rocky streambeds. The bucket has to be able to meet the following requirements: Testable release door prior to departure. The ability of releasing water at different times, all at once or released for a fire line. The ability to be filled in two ways -- scooping into stream or straight down in a pool. The bucket has to remain stable during filling. The bucket can not be affected by the helicopters rotor wash. Repairs can be made locally. The bucket remains self supporting when filled with water and is listed on a Airworthiness Release letter as being a authorized bucket for theUH 60A/L.
