Coast Guard is seeking firms to provide analytical, technical, and
engineering support services for the Coast Guard's Navigation Center.
The Coast Guard operates a variety of low frequency/medium frequency
(LF/MF) radionavigational systems as one of the necessary elements to
enable safe transportation and encourage commerce with the United
States; these systems include Loran-C and the Differential Global
Positioning System (DGPS), which utilizes LF radiobeacons. The USCG
Navigation Center (NAVCEN), a USCG operational unit, is responsible for
operating, maintaining and improving the DGPS; serving as the primary
Civil Interface for the Global Positioning System; and supporting
operations of the Loran-C System. An indefinite-delivery,
indefinite-quantity contract with Firm-Fixed Price task orders is
anticipated. The period of performance will consist of a base-year and
four option years. It is estimated that the Request For Proposals
(RFP) will be issued on or about 30 June 1999, with proposals due
30days after issuance of the RFP. Interested firms must submit a
