E-MAIL: Brad Kneisly, brad.kneisly@ws.wpafb.af.mil. A -- Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL/VACS) solicits proposals for the Reduced Aircraft Vulnerability to Shoulder-Launched Missiles effort. The objective of this effort is to support the development of near-term vulnerability reduction solutions for military aircraft impacted by shoulder-fired man-portable air defense system (MANPADS) missiles. Aircraft vulnerability reduction poses a challenging problem for researchers in that a diverse spectrum of technologies and disciplines is often required. Proposals concerning all categories of military aircraft (with emphasis on rotorcraft, large transport, and fixed wing fighter) and MANPADS missiles (IR, laser, visual) will be considered.
