scope of work for fixed price design contracts or indefinite quantity
contracts for architect-engineering services may include, but not
necessarily be limited to: preparation of complete solicitation
construction drawings, specifications and cost estimates; assisting the
USPS during solicitation of proposals for construction, and contract
administration for postal facilities. Award of projects over a 5-year
period may be made without further solicitation but are contingent upon
final approval by the Postal Service approval authority; the firm's
availability of qualified staff and the quality of their previous
performance. The prime firm and all consultants shall have the latest
useable AutoCad release. Other categories of projects within this
geographical area, that could be awarded include: custom design of new
postal facilities; incorporation of the Postal Retail Store into
existing designs; site adaptation of previous designs; miscellaneous
designs; repair and alteration projects; preparation ofdesign/build
documents; and Contract Administration Services for the New
Construction and Alternate Quarters projects; and professional services
support for other Postal Service facilities programs. Firms that have
the qualifications to perform the services described above are invited
to submit a completed SF 255, Architect-Engineer and Related Services
Questionnaire, and a completed SF 254. In addition, provide completed
SF 254s for each proposed consultant. Mail all documents to the Denver
Facilities Service Office, Attention: Tom Carriere, 8055 East Tufts
Avenue Suite 400, Denver, CO 80237-2881. The selection will be
conducted by using the submitted SF 255 and the SF 254s. Interested
firms with more than one office must indicate on the SF 255, the
staffing composition of the office in which the work will be performed.
Firms responding to this advertisement will be evaluated in accordance
with the following criteria: 1) Geographical preference: a) Within a
50 mile radius of Anchorage, Alaska, b) State of Alaska; 2) Firms
experienced in the design of similar projects including the
design/build process; 3) Firm's ability to provide high quality service
in construction administration; 4) Firms having similar project
experience with Federal Agencies/USPS; 5) Design of small repair and
alteration projects in rural Alaska; and 6) Minimum staff of 5 and have
a minimum of 2 Architects registered in the State of Alaska. A/E firms
will be considered local only if their sole office is in Anchorage,
Alaska, or if they have a local branch office and all the architectural
design, coordination, and management of the project will be performed
in that office. The contract contains a requirement for firms to
provide evidence of current insurance of $200,000 errors and omissions
per claim. It is prohibited to pay any fee, commission, percentage or
brokerage fee to any person or firm contingent upon or resulting from
award of a contract from this solicitation. No other general
notification for this solicitation will be made. Submission of SF 254
and SF 255 by USPS mail is encouraged. This solicitation may result in
multiple awards. One or both contracts may be awarded to selected
