The United States Postal Service intends to award a cost reimbursable design/build contract with a guaranteed maximum price (GMP) for the design and construction of a new Processing and Distribution Center in Columbus, Ohio. Design and construction is estimated between $65,000,000 and $83,000,000. The scope of work includes design and construction of a new 807,865 gross square foot Processing and Distribution Center and a 11,216 gross square foot Vehicle Maintenance Facility on a 64.6 acre tract of land, located in Columbus, Ohio. The project includes administrative office areas, associated parking and maneuvering areas, and a bulk mail system. Coordination of a Tray Management System and loose mail system into the building by separate contracts is part of the scope of work. All areas described are approximate, exact areas will be denoted on preliminary plans, standards, specifications and criteria. The completion time for this contract is 700 calendar days from date indicated in Notice to Proceed. Contract award is contingent upon the Postal Service Board of Governors approval. The Minority Business Enterprise subcontracting goal for this contract is a minimum of 10%.
