(TACT), 3417 Civic Opera Building, 20 North Wacker Drive, Chicago, IL 60606, (312) 258-8228 the following proprietary software solution: Product: AMO/Y2K -- add-on to CA-Unicenter AMO; Description/Purpose: The A Consulting team (TACT)is an authorized Computer Associates Unicenter TNG Value Added Reseller. TACT has developed AMO/Y2K, an add-on to Unicenter TNG AMO designed to help automate the process of Y2K asssessments of PC hardware and desktop applications. AMO/Y2K is a combination of methodology, code, reports, and services that extend AMO's abilities as a centralized inventory and asset management tool to centrally manage the desktop Y2K-compliance issue; Impact: The government has fully researched other options and have found that A Consulting Team (TACT) is the only provider for this application and software. Not using this source can be ineffective to the mission ahd hinder the development of the system. This software is an ad-on to the existing system, which TACT has researched for the past year to determine the best software to develop. TACT is a Unicenter reseller and development partner. TACT has developed AMO/Y2K, as an add-on to the Unicenter TNG AMO designed to help clients uncover Y2K compliance issues with their PC hardware and desktop applications. TACT is considered a sole source provider for this software. They composed this exclusively for their clients. TACT will train the Unicenter employees that will implement the software. This software will be loaded on 100,00 desktops command wide AMC and is licensed per desktop. JUSTIFICATION FOR OTHER THAN FULL AND OPEN COMPETITION: TACT is a premier reseller that provides implementation, development, and training services around Unicenter. GSAs client has purchased their existing software with (AMO-Asset Management Option) from Unicenter. This was a three-year, $5 Million project. TACT has developed an add-on software to help detect Y2K problems on PC hardware, applications, and data files. Unicenter and TACT have worked together to ease the process in the implementation of the Y2K software. TACT will license AMO/Y2K, a proprietary software solution, to the United States Air Force at a fair and reasonable cost. TACT will also make necessary arrangement for subsequent training to allow Air Force technicians to install and support the software.
