The Standard Industrial Code(SIC) for this project is 1542 General Contractors Non residential buildings, other than Industrial Buildings and Warehouses. The size standard is $17.0 Million. The work includes renovation of the DAPS facility in Building 1001 and incidental related work. The project area is located in a portion of the first floor and the work involves primarily interior renovation. The present entrance is not handicap accessible and the scope of the project includes re-construction of the entrance to include a ramp and to make it ADA compliant. Interior renovation will include defining spaces for reception, offices, printing and paper and supply storage. Doors leading out to the loading dock will be replaced and refinished as necessary. A false ceiling and wall furring will be provided to conceal pipe, electrical panels, etc. Suitable finishes will be provided to maintain an improved working environment. The projected date of availabilityof the solicitation is 22 June 99. The projected bid opening date is 02 August 1999. Contractors within the local area are encouraged to pick up a copy of the plans and specs at the office of the Officer in Charge of Construction, Building 2004.
