The United States Department of Agriculture intends to award a sole-source purchase order to Texas A&M University, Physical Plant Department, College Station, Texas to expand an existing fiber optics network which will extend our Internet services to "outer" buildings of our research complex which is located adjacent to the University campus. The work is a follow-on to an existing system which includes but is not limited to furnishing all labor, materials, supervision, equipment, and related items to extend the existing fiber optics network at the USDA, ARS, facilities in College Station, Texas. Texas A&M University is considered the one and only source to satisfy this requirement because they must maintain total quality control over its entire Ethernet system and will not allow outside contractors to work or install new components to their system this way assuring complete and total compatibility with their system.
