The Government intends to procure a quantity of up to 500 each (including options) AN/AVS-7 Head Up Display systems as a sole source contract with Marconi Aerospace. The contract will be an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract with two basic and three option years and a minimum buy of 10 in each year, up to a maximum of 100 systems each year plus any needed spares. The AN/AVS-7 is a sensory gathering system that takes various analog and digital aircraft sensor information and directs it to a Signal Data Converter (SDC). The SDC converts it to symbology and transmits the information into an optical display unit that is attached to the AN/AVS-6 ANVIS night vision goggle. The symbology is overlaid on the ANVIS image provided independently to the pilot and copilot. The equipment will be installed on aircraft that will include, but not be limited to, the following multiservice platforms: CH-47, UH-60, CH-53, UH-1N and CH-46. See note 22.
