synopsis/solicitation, M00027-99-Q-0004, for commercial items prepared
in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with
additional information included in this notice. This announcement
constitutes the only solicitation; request for quotes are requested and
a written solicitation will not be issued and this notice is issued as
a Request for Quotation (RFQ). This document and incorporated
provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition
Circular 97-11. The Marine Corps has a requirement for the following
Audio Books/Tapes to be sent to Marine Detachments deployed aboard 31
Navy ships. Three copies of each are required for each ship. It is the
government's intent to make one award for this acquisition. The

(abr); Battle Cry of Freedom, McPherson (unabr); Best and the

Diplomacy -- Parts 1&2, Kissinger (unabr); Face of Battle, Keegan
(unabr); Flights of Passage, Hynes (unabr); Fortunate Son, Puller
(abr); Gallipoli, Moorehead (unabr); In Retrospect, McNamara (unabr);
It Doesn't Take a Hero, Schwarzkopf (abr); Killer Angels, Shaara
(unabr); Killing Ground, Trevor (unabr); Landscape Turned Red, Sears
(unabr); Marine!, Davis (unabr); My American Journey, Powell (abr); On

provisions apply to this acquisition: 52.212-1, Instructions to
Offerors -- Commercial Items, plus any subsequent addenda. 52.212-2,
Evaluation -- Commercial Items. Award will be made to the responsible
offeror whose offer conforms to the solicitation and is found to be
most advantageous to the Government, price and other factors considered
(Past Performance). 52.212-3, Offeror Representations and
Certifications -- Commercial Items. Offerors must include a completed
copy of this provision with their quote. 52.212-4, Contract Terms and
Conditions -- Commercial Items, plus any subsequent addenda. 52.212-5,
Contract Terms and Conditions Required to Implement Statutes or
Executive Orders -- Commercial Items. The following sub-paragraphs
under paragraph (b) are hereby checked: (6), (7), (8), (9), and (10),
regarding which, if any, additional FAR clauses cited in the clause are
applicable to this acquisition. Vendors must have a Valid Trading
Partner registration in the Central Contractor Registration system.
Furnish DUNS number, Taxpayer ID number (TIN), and CAGE code with
quote. Also include all shipping & handling charges, if any. Telephonic
responses will not be considered. Written responses should be forwarded
to Mr. Lee Robinson, Headquarters, U.S. Marine Corps (LBC), #2 Navy
Annex, Room 2135, Washington, D.C. by 2:00 p.m. on June 25, 1999. *****
