The overall services the contractor shall be required to provide are in the areas of aerodynamics, aerospace vehicle design and advanced information technologies. The number of research labor-hours per year and the number of FTEs are increased to 55,200 and 30, respectively. The requirement for a pool, or access to a pool, Is expanded to include computer science talent and computer scientists. The description of the work performed by the Divisions is expanded to application of the methods to assist the aerospace industry and NASA Programs in the design of aerospace vehicles, not just aircraft. The aerospace vehicles include reusable space transportation vehicles. The Divisions develop design and analysis capabilities. These capabilities help enable the US Aerospace industry to be competitive in the global marketplace. NASA Programs, other Government agencies, and private industry may request the analytical and experimental investigations. The Divisions also research and implement prototype Integrated Design Environments, applying advanced information technologies to the integration of distributed, multi-fidelity and multi-disciplinary applications, and to the enabling of distributed, collaborative design capabilities. These prototypes are employed to support real design events in addition to serving as a testbed for research in design process improvement. Firms are encouraged to submit supplemental information describing their capabilities and experience with the above mentioned additional and clarified requirements.
