Transamerica Occidental Life Insurance Company (TOLIC) which currently is under contract with HCFA for Medicare Part B claims processing is seeking sources for the printing and and distribution of Medicare Newsletters for fiscal year 2000. Delivery will be to the Los Angeles office with distribution mailed by vendor. Planned specifications and volumes are anticipated as follows: 1) There will be a minimum of 6 newsletter editions published with an additional option of 2 more issues, 2) 11" x 17" folds to 8 " x 11", cover is self mailer, 3) ink colors on first edition will be black only, all others will be 2-color -red (PMS 186U), and blue -(PMS 280U), 4) Paper first edition will be on white #16, others will be white 50# offset, 5) Binding -- Saddle stitch. 6) Perforations on selected pages and 3 hole drill, 7) Quantity is between 25,000 and 130,000 each edition, 8) final (8 " x 11") page count of approximately 20 to maximum of 104 pages per newsletter, page count and quantity for each issue varies. Mail date of initial newsletter/fee schedule printing is November 15, 1999. Interested parties must respond no later than June 18, 1999 to obtain a copy of the detailed specifications and proposal criteria. Quotations must be submitted no later than July 7, 1999. Responses will be reviewed and evaluated 70% on cost and 30% on meeting the specific requests as detailed in specifications and proposal criteria.
