NASA/LaRC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for 3 each PXI-1000 8 slot chasis, universal (120 vac) power accepts both 3U PXI and 3U compact PCI modules; 3 each PXI-1000 rackmount kit; 18 each PXI-6533 and NI-DAQ software for windows, PXI-6533 high speed ditial I/O module; 3 each PXI-8155 233 MHz pentium processor with Windows NT 32MB EDO RAM; 4GB HD, 2MB SVGA, floppy drive, USB, parallel port; 6 each 64MB EDO RAM (SO-DIMM Module) for PXI-8150 series; 4 each PXI-6508 96 channel digital I/O module which includes NI-DAQ on CD-Rom; and 4 each PXI-8210 fast ethernet and wide ultra SCSI interface. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/LaRC intends to purchase the items from National Instruments, Austin, Texas,which is the only source that can meet the requirements for high speed digital I/O integrated with Lab View user interface. The system solicited will be used as part of an existing Digital Acoustic Measurement System which was provided by National Instrument and contains their proprietary hardware and software. The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have 15 days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the 15 days or without the required information will be considered non-responsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. All responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. An Ombudsman has been appointed.
