Botella, Point of Contact, (215) 233-6551, fax (215) 233-6558 The USDA, Agricultural Research Service (ARS), intends to negotiate solely with Qiagen, Inc. in Valencia, CA to furnish, deliver (F.O.B. Destination), and install at the USDA, ARS, Eastern Regional Research Center, in Wyndmoor, (Philadelphia), PA, a Qiagen 9600 BioRobot System, QIAsoft software and accessories. The accessories include a High Speed Pipetting System, a Tip Change System, a Large and Small Tip Adapter Set, a Large and Small Probe Set, a Paging System, and a Dual Vacuum Assembly System. The Qiagen BioRobot 9600 system will be used to automate routine molecular biology tasks, precision liquid-handling tasks such as enzymatic reaction setup and purification technologies including applications such as automated sequencing, PCR and isolation of ultra-pure and molecular grade purities of nucleic acids. The Operating System shall have Windows 95/98 and NT compatible software, computer and cables. The software program shall import and export spreadsheet tables and execute table functions. All software shall be Y2K compliant. The software shall be 100 percent compatible with PE/Applied Biosystem's 3700 DNA Analyzer. The database system shall be capable of being expanded to receive files from more than one PE instrument thus, reducing redundant equipment and software at ERRC. Delivery and installation shall be made within 60 days of receipt of the purchase order. The contractor shall provide at a minimum a three-day, on-site training. The contractor shall provide one set each of the site preparation manual, user, software, and maintenance manuals. The contractor shall provide a one-year parts and labor warranty on the equipment. Companies with the demonstrated capability and financial capacity to provide and service such equipment must submit a written substantive statement outlining the Company's and systems' capabilities to the Contracting Officer within 15 days of publication of this notice.
