This is a notice of intent to negotiate with Leica Microsystems, Inc, 111 Deer Lake Road, Deerfield, IL 60015, on an other than full and open competitive basis to purchase a metallograph with a 30mm field of view and a digital connector for the MEF4 metallograph. The government intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Leica Microsystems Inc, in which the manufacturer has the capability of being compatible with our current image analysis system. The image analysis system is located at the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, Patuxent River, Maryland within 30 days after contract award.
