Dept of Commerce/NOAA/NMFS/Fisheries Statistics and Economics Division proposes to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with American Sportfishing Association, Alexandria, VA to provide a Study of the Economics Dependance of Fishing Tackle Retailers on Marine Recreational Fisheries. To provide recommendations regarding how to best collect data from coastal marine dealers in the future to satisfy Regulatory Flexibility Act and National Standard 8 analysis requirements. The results of this project will generate a better understanding of coastal tackle dealers, and would be used as a baseline for future investigation into the economic effects of regulatory and fishery management changes.
