SOL WASC9-1257 DUE 070299 POC Randall Brown (206) 526-6226/FAX (206) 526-6025 Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Stanford University for creation of a digital, interactive 3-D model of parts of Axial volcano on the Juan de Fuca Ridge. Creation of such a model is an extremely technical process and requires wide variety of expertise including understanding of the geological and biological features found in the study area as well as expertise in video editing, 2-D graphic art, and 3-D computer graphics. NOAA has identified a candidate at Stanford University ideal for creating this model. Sources interested in receiving solicitation must possess a Ph.D. in geological and possess qualifications/experience in completing similar projects such as creating 3-D model representing a scale model of hydrothermal vent field, including black smoker chimneys, vent fauna, and complex geologic terrain. State qualifications/experience with request for solicitation, simple requests for the solicitation will not be honored.
