The U.S. Department of Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) has a requirement for a nationally recongnized expert with extensive technical experience with the ISO Guide 25 accreditation process and the most recent version of the ISO Standard 17025 requirements to provide initial detailed training and guidance for the participants in the FSIS Laboratory Accreditation Pilot. The contractor will work closely with the pilot laboratories to design generic, computer-based model documentation systems for use by the pilot participants. The contractor will assist in the coordiniation of documentation and other accreditation activities of the participants to assure the most efficient utilization of time and resources. This requirement is 100-percent set-aside for small business concerns. A small business concern is defined for this procurement as SIC Code 8742, $5 million. The period of performance for this procurement is one year. Solicitation packages will be available on or around June 25, 1999.
