E-MAIL: Eric W. Lewis, eric.w.lewis1@jsc.nasa.gov. THIS NOTICE CONSTITUTES AMENDMENT NO. 1 TO THE Synopsis FOR X-38 RADAR ALTIMETER SUPPLEMENTED WITH ADDITIONAL INFORMATION CONTAINED IN THIS NOTICE. Companies shall acknowledge all amendment(s) in their offer. This notice serves as the official amendment to the subject solicitation and a written amendment will not be issued. The purpose of this amendment is to request from all prospective offerors the use of a loaner system. These systems will be used to test functional performance and interface compatibility with X-38 V-201. NASA/JSC will require the use of the units for a minimum period of four months. In addition the technical organization requests continued use of the successful offeror's loaner system until such time that the first unit under the contract is delivered. All offerors that provide loaner systems must also provide all ground equipment necessary to communicate/operate. Offerors should assume that NASA/JSC has standard lab facilities (i.e., power supply and laptops but not software nor IO cards). Please note that prospective offerors are not required to provide loaner systems. Specific terms and conditions for NASA/JSC utilization of the hardware should accompany your response. Prospective offerors are requested to notify this office whether or not a loaner system will be provided by June 17, 1999. The hardware should be received by June 24, 1999. Due to budgetary contraints any contract awarded as a result of solicitation 9-BH13-44-9-20P will not be awarded prior to October 1, 1999. Therefore, NASA/JSC requests the proposal validity period of 60 days be revised to accomodate a time frame of 120 days. The anticipated date for release of the solicitation is June 25, 1999 with proposals due on July 23, 1999. Offers shall provide the information stated in the synopsis posted on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service (NAIS) on April 27, 1999 and published in the CBD on April 27, 1999.
