Center, Fayetteville, AR intends to negotiate with Smith Two-Way Radio,
Inc., Fayetteville, AR for Motorola parts and labor to assemble/install
a communications system upgrade. Proposed upgrade consists of the
following items: Hospital Frequency Upgrade -- Crossband
Uhf-Medstar-F.Q. To Vhf. 155.340, using existing controller and
transceivers; Replace Paging Transmitter -- Use existing antennae &
frequency Vhf, replace with 100watt Mtr-2000 station; Shuttle/Use
existing Engineering Portables -- Vhf. station; Existing PD UHF
Frequency & Telephone Interconnect -- No Change; Engineering frequency
at Bldg. #4 -- Upgrade to UHF; Need new UHF frequency; Remotes, Remote
Adapters, and Rack Mounting Systems -- Remote Adapters, four each,
Remote Control Stations, seven each, and one Rack Mount System, 19" x
52" ; Upgrade existing portables to UHF -- Replace existing portable
Radios, w/HT-1250, w/limited key pad, replace approximately 25 radios,
purchase remote speaker mikes and leather carry cases for 13. Provide
pricing for additional batteries. If the same or equal item is
available from another source, furnish product information and
literature with proposal to this office no later than 4:30 p.m., July
2, 1999. The determination to open competition based on information
