66 -- MR CONSOLE SYSTEMS FOR AN 11.7T MAGNET AND OPTIONAL CONSOLE FOR A 4.7T MAGNET SOL RFQ-NCI-90110-NQ DUE 062999 POC Cynthia Brown, Purchasing Agent, 301-402-4509, Todd Cole, Contracting Officer The National Cancer Institute (NCI), on behalf of the Laboratory of Functional and Molecular Imaging (LFMI), National Institute of Neurological Disorders and Stroke (NINDS), plans to procure an NMR console system for an 11.7 Tesla, 31 cm bore magnet built by Magnex Scientific. In addition, NCI (for NINDS) plans on procuring an optional console for a 4.7 Tesla, 33 cm bore magnet built by Oxford. The consoles will require room temperature shims, Rf shielding, appropriate gradients (Large, Medium, and Small sets), Rf electronics, Rf amplifiers, Rf receivers, Rf probes, and workstations. The consoles shall be fully integrated with the magnets, and data shall be compatible when shared between the consoles. Full details of this requirement will be included in the RFQ package. This procurement is being conducted in accordance with the procedures for acquiring commericial items authorized in FAR Part 12 and pursuant to the authority in FAR 13.5 to use simplified procedures for commercial requirements. The Government anticipates that only one fixed price contract will be awarded under the anticipated Request for Quotations. The Standard Industrial Code is 3826 and the business size standard is 500 employees. However, this acquisition is not set-aside for small business. The complete RFQ/solicitation package is scheduled for release on approximately June 30, 1999, and offers will be tentatively due about 20 days after the solicitation release date.
