21207-5279 70 -- ONSITE TECHNICAL SUPPORT SOUGHT FOR LOADRUNNER SOFTWARE DUE
062899 POC CYNTHIA SPENCER, 410-965-3369 WEB: Download Solicitation
when/if available, http://www.ssa.gov/oag. E-MAIL: Contracting Officer,
SSA/OAG, CYNTHIA.SPENCER@ssa.gov. The Social Security Administration
(SSA) is attempting to identify responsible vendors that can provide
onsite technical support for the software product LoadRunner.
LoadRunner is a proprietary software tool used for capacity planning
and performance management on UNIX data base servers. SSA also is
conducting load and stress tests on the Paperless Project using current
licenses of LoadRunner. These tests are being designed to simulate the
workload of up to 500 Paperless users performing typical user
functions. In order to expedite the tests, on-site technical support is
necessary. Technical support consists of the following: 1) the
Engagement Lead reviews SSA's Paperless testing environment and defines
what is required to achieve specific testing goals; 2) the Engagement
Load will also assist in setting up the test scripting approach; 3) the
Quick Start will help get LoadRunner and the Paperless Project testing
up and running. Initial efforts will focus on getting the test scripts
to run successfully with a light load. Subsequent sessions concentrate
on running larger user loads, interpreting results, and working with
system experts to diagnose system issues; and 4) the Engagement Lead
will review the status of the project and initial load test results.
Consulting services will be performed at the SSA National Computer
Center in Baltimore, MD. As the proprietary owner/publisher of this
software, Mercury Interactive Corporation is considered the only source
capable of providing the required technical support. Any responsible
firm that believes it has the capability to provide this requirement to
SSA are invited to submit information concerning their capabilities,
experience, and other pertinent data (including GSA Schedule
information). When responding to this announcement, respondents should
refer to LoadRunner99. Responses must be in writing and should be
submitted to the address cited at the beginning of this notice. THE DUE
DATE FOR RESPONSES IS 12:00 PM, EST, JUNE 28, 1999. FAXED RESPONSES
SHALL NOT BE PERMITTED. The Government does not intend to pay for
information received. All responses from responsible sources will be
fully considered. If after the due response date of this notice, no
viable responses have been received, SSA shall issue the award to
Mercury Interactive Corporation. Posted 06/11/99 (D-SN341743). (0162) Loren Data Corp. http://www.ld.com (SYN# 0293 19990615\70-0004.SOL)
