The Social Security Administration seeks information on product(s) that monitor and report end-user transaction response time for client server application(s). The solution product(s) should support both customized and commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) applications, including applications in: MS Visual Basic, MS Visual C++, VB Script, Smalltalk and the MS Office Suite. Client workstations run the MS Windows/NT 4.0 and later operating system and are connected to servers running a multitude of operating systems via token-ring LAN/WAN environment. The SSA seeks information regarding the solution product's: (1) ease of maintenance; (2) plug and play capability; (3) reporting capability; (4) ARM (Application Response and Measurement) compatibility; (5) ability to decompose response time across a range of clients, servers, and networks; (6) management of historical databases for response time information; (7) a driver capability and ability to stress test with multiple users; (8) threshold alerting capability;and (9) ability to identify transactions. The solution provider must interface within SSA's existing environment and have the ability to provide the monitoring and reporting capability with no major impact or interruption to the existing infrastructure. Any responsible organization able to provide such technology is invited to submit complete details concerning its capabilities, experience, and other pertinent data (including GSA contract information). Respondents must provide enough information (for example, product brochures) clearly indicating the capability of the offered product to meet the stated requirements. Only written responses will be accepted. Responses are due by June 25, 1999. The Government does not intend to pay for any information provided. This is a request for information only-THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSALS (RFP). Requests for a solicitation will not be honored or acknowledged.
