See Note 22 The US Army Communications Electronics Command (CECOM) is in the process of awarding a FFP contract to Cubic Defense Systems, San Diego, CA for the fabrication of Thrity Eight (38) Joint STARS Ground Data Terminal (GDTs). This action includes GDT spares, support and ancelery items. The GDT is the primary data link on the JSTARS Common Ground Station (CGS). This requirement will enable the fielding of the GDT with the JSTARS CGS. The GDT is part of the JSTARS Surveillance and Control Data Link (SCDL). The SCDL was developed specifically for JSTARS Systems and is designed to provide radar data and battle management information between JSTARS E-8 aircraft and the CGS, by radio link. RFP is being issued to Cubic Defense Systems per FAR 6-302-1, "Only One Responsible Source" Cubic is the developer and producer of the SCDL, and is the only company possessing the knowledge and expertise for this requirement.
