The Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, has a requirement for six (6) SolidWorks 98 Plus Software packages to perform complex 3D parametric assemblies. Parametric design is the ability to create solid parts, assemblies and drawings that communicate with each other. The software needs to be able to leave models unconstrained if desired, has to have Photo Realistic Rendering available, including textures, anti-aliasing, light sources, shadows and decals. The software utilizes industry standard Parasolid solid modeling kernel, and have PRO/E direct part file converter available. The software must have Semi-automated Feature Recognition module available to restore parametric features to translated data such as IGES, STEP, Parasolid and ACIS. The product cannot be in first release and must have sheetmetal design and unfolding capability. The Government intends to award a sole source purchase order to SolidWorks Corporation in Concord, MA using the procedures per FAR Part 12 and 13 for commercial items. Solidworks is the only design software vendor who is capable of continuing the current design process. To date, the Naval Undersea Warfare Center, Division Newport, has acquired six licenses from the SolidWorks Corporation and additional licenses are required to allow more individuals the use of this tool. Delivery will be F.O.B. Destination, Newport, RI on or about 1999 July 31. All responsible sources may submit a quotation which shall be considered by the government.
