During the month of June 1999, the District of Columbia Financial
Responsibility and Management Assistance Authority ("Authority") will
be issuing a solicitation to seek qualified firms to submit proposals
to assess the financial condition of the Greater Southeast Community
Hospital ("GSCH") and to make recommendations to help render GSCH
financially viable in both the short and long term. The recommendations
shall focus on the improvement of the delivery of medical care
services, the improvement of hospital profitability and the improvement
of hospital operating efficiency. Qualified firms must have experience
and knowledge of the health care industry, health care management
services and financial management. The Authority anticipates that the
RFP will be issued during the month of June and proposals will be
required within sevent to ten days from the issuance date of the
