20 -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO ESTABLISH A TWO-YEAR BLANKET PURCHASE AGREEMENT (BPA) WITH OCEANTRONICS INC. Notice of intent to establish a two-year blanket purchase agreement (BPA) with Oceantronics Inc. for the Pacific Marine Environmental Laboratory (PMEL). Purpose of contract is to purchase ice floe tracking buoys which include miscellaneous temperature, ocean, stress, meteorological, radiometer sensors, and related parts/equipment from Oceantronics. These buoys are used to collect meteorological data in the Arctic. PMEL has standardized on Oceantronics buoys for collecting meteorological data, and further use will defer start-up engineering costs and nine months PMEL/vendor development required to develop buoys that would survive the harsh Arctic climate.
