R -- - NOTICE OF INTENT TO NEGOTIATE A SOLE SOURCE CONTRACT WITH SOMMARSTROM & ASSOCIATES. Notice of intent to negotiate a sole source contract with Sommarstrom & Associates for the National Marine Fisheries Service (NMFS) in Santa Rosa, CA. Purpose of contract is to conduct study to inventory and synthesis sources of data for building a California coastal anadromous fish database to be used in Endangered Species Act and essential fish habitat consultations. Dr. Sommarstrom possesses access to salmon datasets pertaining to fish distribution within certain watersheds that are not commonly available and has also worked closely with Tierra Data Systems in developing a regional geographic information system (GIS). All data collected by Sommarstrom & Associates will be entered into the regional GIS. This is a simplified acquisition with an estimated value of less than $100,000.
