Wilcox-DuBois, USPS Contract Specialist, 312/669-5974, John Tsingas, Teng & Associates, 312/616-6195 The U.S. Postal Service is soliciting proposals for complete replacement of existing steam/condensate heating, ventilation and exhaust systems with new direct fired and natural gas equipment in a large USPS owned and operated vehicle maintenance facility (VMF)(Garage) located in the western Loop area of downtown Chicago. The facility will be occupied during construction. Performance of the work shall not negatively impact the day to day USPS vehicle operations. Coordination of the work with facility occupants will be required. Portions of the work shall be phased to prevent interruption to USPS operators. Scope includes, but is not limited to, selective demolition, mechanical piping and ductwork, electrical work, fire alarm work, and architectural work, etc. as indicated in the plans and specifications. Portions of the work will be completed during normal working hours. Other portions of the work will be performed during evening hours and on Saturdays and Sundays. Award will be made pending USPS funding. Construction cost range: $3,200,000 to $3,400,000. Evaluation factors in addition to price are as follows: 1. General Experience; 2. Financial Stability; 3. Capacity; and 4. Resources. Construction completion time will be two hundred forty (240) calendar days from date of receipt of Notice to Proceed.
