Subect: Readiness Spares Package: This action is to execute a modification to contract DAAB07-95-C-A518 for the procurment of a Readiness Spares Package (RSP) that was identified and is required as a direct result of a recent Engineering Change Proposal (ECP) associated with the Lightweight Multi-Band Satellite Terminal (LMST) Trailer. THE RSP consits of the following parts: High Power Amp (HPA); HPA Controller; Up Converter; Down Converter; Modem; Processor Circuit Card; and Circuit Mux. Harris Corporation is the only known source with the unique technical capability that can satisfy the requirement for the LMST Readiness Spares while providing the levels of support required by all LMST users. Harris was the developer of the current LMST. They are the only known source capable of producing the LMST Spares, assuring complete form, fit, and function and providing the spares within the required delivery time. The Government does not possess the technical data to acquire LMSTs from any other source. Harris controls the LMST system baseline for all production hardware. This is a sole source acquisition with Harris Corporation, Melbourn, FL, authorized under 10. U.S.C. 2304 (C)(1) AND FAR 6.302-1(A)(1).
