The Federal Correctional Institution at Sheridan, Oregon, intends to upgrade the on-site Simplex Fire Alarm System Graphic Command Center (GCC) for Y2K Compliance. Upgrade of the system will include, but is not limited to, upgrade of existing color graphics PC, software and custom screens to Simplex 4120 redundant GCC Network, converting standalone 4100 control panels to 4120 Network nodes, programming new GCC to all monitor and control points, system testing, and customer training. The government intends to contract this procurement with Simplex Time Recorder Co., the authorized local Simplex office. The Government knows of no other source and believes this procurement is proprietary to Simplex. This is a Simplified Acquisition with an estimated value of less than $50,000. This is not a request for proposals and there is no solicitation available. Interested firms may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. Interested firms should submit in writing, their name, address, point of contact telephone number, business size, a brief statement regarding capability to provide the specified procurement, and points of contact for businesses or other Government agencies to which it has previously provided this type of procurement. All responses received within fifteen days after the date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government.
