Q -- MEDICAL SERVICES SOL RFP-618-07-00-LK DUE 082599 POC Linda Kelly 612-725-2183 The Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), One Veterans Drive, Minneapolis, Minnesota 55417, has a requirement to contract for Blood Donor Center Services to be provided at the VAMC in Minneapolis. The VAMC Minneapolis currently has a donor base of 15,000 donors on record. Units donated in calendar year 1998 were 4500. The VAMC is looking for a Blood Bank/Blood Donor FDA Licensed agency or group to come into the VA Medical Center and take over our 2850 sq.ft. Blood Donor Center by renting the space and providing full operation of the Blood Donor Program including all employees and equipment for 8 hours per day 5 days per week. The blood collected will become the property of the contractor. However, the VAMC will expect a "payment in kind" or a reduction in the cost of purchasing blood from the Contractor that is equal to the number of units collected at VAMC. It is anticipated that a five year contract will be awarded consisting of a base year and four 12-month options to renew.
