follow-up to the Customs' Sources Sought Announcement for Class Code 58
-- Detection Equipment posted on June 9, 1999. Offerors should refer to
that text for details of the requirement. Offerors must consider that
no decision regarding the small business set aside will be made until
June 24, 1999. At this time, all responsible sources who submit a
proposal will be considered. Businesses will be apprised of the
set-aside status when a request for RFP is received. There will be a
total of sixteen (16) systems purchased over a contract period of
approximately three years. Note: Due to additional health and safety
issues which radioactive isotopes present, U.S. Customs Service is not
interested in isotope sources, only x-ray sources will be considered.
