Assistance, slwillia@usgs.gov. The U.S. Geological Survey has a
requirement to replace the existing uninterrupted power source (UPS) at
the EROS Data Center, Sioux Falls, South Dakota. The project involves
removal of the existing UPS switchgear, removal and disposal of the
lead calcium batteries. Replace with a new 300 KVA static system. The
UPS module shall be a Liebert Series 600T single module system with
input filtering or approved equal. The salient features for approved
equal are given in the specifications and on the contract drawings. The
batteries shall be of the type specified and shall be installed within
three cabinets. Each battery cabinet shall have its own circuit
breaker. The UPS system shall consist of UPS module, battery system,
battery protective devices, static bypass transfer switch, controls and
monitoring. Input AC power shall be connected to the normal source AC
input of the UPS module. The battery shall be connected to the DC input
of the UPS module through the battery protective device. The AC output
of theUPS system shall be connected to the critical loads. The UPS
shall be ETL listed per -UL 1778- . UPS module shall contain required
input isolation transformer, rectifier/charger unit, inverter unit and
controls, battery protective device, and any other specified
equipment/devices. Battery system shall contain the battery cells,
racks, battery disconnect, battery monitor and cabinet, if required.
The UPS system shall include the system cabinet, static bypass transfer
switch, system protective devices monitoring and controls, means of
isolating the system from the critical load, and remote monitoring
interfaces. The estimated cost range of this project is between
$100,000 to $250,000. Potential bidders must request this IFB in
writing to the Contracting Officer. Your written request for plans and
specifications should include name, street address, solicitation
number, and complete telephone number. Requests can be faxed to the
Contracting Officer at (303) 236-2710. TELEPHONE REQUESTS WILL NOT BE
ACCEPTED. The estimated issue date is on or about July 2, 1999, with a
site visit and pre-bid conference scheduled on July 13, 1999.
Tentative bid opening date is August 13, 1999. This solicitation is
issued on an unrestricted basis, and is open to both large and small
