The project includes demolition of existing west approach slab to allow modifications to the existing deck slab. West end of bridge will be extended by constructing a single span structure adjacent to the existing west abutment. A new pile-supported intermediate pier, a new pile-supported abutment, and a new approach slab will be required. Modifications to the deck slab to abutment connection will be made at both ends of the bridge, with the east end modifications being performed without removal of the approach slab. East and West embankments, and channel under bridge will be regraded. New riprap slope protection will be provided.
