The Air Force is requesting proposals for the renovation of Building 1427 at Hanscom AFB. The scope of this project includes furnishing as required all the labor, materials, travel, equipment and services and performing all operations for the renovation of Building 1427, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing systems. The work will include removal of asbestos-containing material. The principle items of work include, but are not limited to: Submittals; drawings; phasing plan; training; inventory of existing equipment; removal and storage of existing equipment; excavation; asbestos abatement; demolition and reconstruction of building entry with associated site work and landscaping; redo floor layout; carpentry; provision of new interior finishes, suspended acoustical tile ceiling, ceiling soffits, new doors, new door frames, new door hardware, and new tile floors; cutting and patching; painting; carpeting; and cleaning. Removal of existing fin tube radiation. Replace the existing heating system including all piping and fan coil units and associated controls; all controls shall be compatible. Replacing the bathroom exhaust fans, installation of chilled water piping equipment; mechanical piping system; replacement of lavatories; sprinkler system; Johnson Controls "Metasys" DDS system; testing; commissioning; and balancing. Exterior and interior electrical work; removal and reinstallation of fire alarm devices and light fixtures. All existing utility meters shall remain operational. Offices will remain occupied. The Contractor shall provide temporary connections as required to assure continuous service to all occupied areas for water, sewage, electrical, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, cable TV, and telephone. The Contractor shall provide new distribution systems parallel to the existing systems. The magnitude of this project is between $500,000 and $1,000,000. The period of performance for this project will be 300 calendar days.
