NASA/MSFC plans to issue a Request for Quotation (RFQ) for REPLACEMENT VACUUM SYSTEM FOR MARTIAN SIMULATION CHAMBER to include the following: ITEM 1: STOKES VACUUM PUMPING UNIT MODEL 903-170-62. 300 CFM MECHANICAL ROUGHING PUMP WITH 1300 CFM BLOWER UNIT. MAIN POWER IS 460V, 60 HZ, 3 PHASE. WATER COOLED WITH 2 GAL/MIN AT 15 PSI. FORE LINE PORT IS 13.5 IN O.D. AND 8 IN. I.D. WITH APPROPRIATE FLANGE HOLE PATTERN OF EIGHT 3/4 -- 10 NC 28 X 1&1/8 IN DEEP TAPPED HOLES ON 11&3/4 IN B.C. STRADDLE CENTERLINE. QUANTITY: 1 EACH. This procurement is being conducted under the Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP). NASA/MSFC intends to purchase the items from Stokes Vacuum Inc., 5500 Tabor Road, Philadelphia, PA 19120. This recommendation is made pursuant to FAR 13.106-1(b)(1). The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12. Interested firms have EIGHT (8) days from the publication of this synopsis to submit in writing to the identified point of contact, their qualifications/capabilities. Such qualifications/capabilities will be used solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. Responses received after the EIGHT (8) days or without the required information will be considered nonresponsive to the synopsis and will not be considered. A determination by the Government to not compete this proposed effort on a full and open competitive basis, based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
