This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; request for quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. This is a Notice of Intent to procure under number NO1-9910; solicitation is issued as a request for quotations. The solicitation documents and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effort through Federal Acquisition Circular 12. This is not a Small Business Set Aside. The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases intends to procure the FACSORT, Used Sensor Upgrade FACSCAN from the manufacturer BECTON DICKINSON IMMUNOCYTOMET SYSTEMS. The FACSORT is a used instrument, which is an upgrade of the pre-exiting FACSCAN to include additional laser and fluidics. The upgrade is to preserve and enhance the functionality of the older instrument, while at the same time maintains upward compatibility of the several thousand data files acquired using the old instrument.The government shall award a fixed price purchased order to the responsible/responsive offer.
