The U.S. Department of Agriculure's Agricultural Marketing Service has announced plans to purchase consumer pack whole turkeys, bulk pack turkeys, turkey roasts, and turkey hams for school lunch and other domestic food nutrition assistance programs. Consumer pack whole turkey, turkey roasts, and turkey hams are for prepartation and consumption in present forms by recipients. Bulk packed turkey will be purchased for delivery to a processor and is for conversion in accordance with contracts with recipients. Bids will be accepted every first and third Monday of each month until program requirements are met. Announcements, commodity specifications, and current invitations and food purchase reports can be found at our website listed below. In addition, small businesses (500 employees or less) are encouraged to participate.
