business. The US Navy has a requirement for the fabrication of 5 each
Radome Lens Polarizer Assemblies, Band 3 Receivers. Fabrication will be
in accordance with Raytheon Drawing G256363. The following is a brief
description of what is required: Interpret drawing per DOD-D-1000;
Front surface skin to be quartz glass/epoxy single layer laminate per
G277028, Sidewall, flange and inner surface multilayer skin to be
fiberglass epoxy laminate with 35-55% resin content per MIL-P-2541.,
glass cloth per MIL-C-9084, Weave Optical, Dielectric filler may be
used in sidewalls, flange and where shown, Lamination of polarizer
shell including sidewalls, flange, grid sheets (FN 6, 7, and 8) and
core material (-11 and 12) shall be per G27619; there shall be no sharp
edges or corners; mask interior surfaces and flange mounting surfaces
and paint exterior surfaces only. Apply primer MIL-P-85582 Type 1 Class
N or MIL-P-23377, Type 1, Color 16473, top coat .001-.002 thick. Apply
primerand paint per process specification G636625; acceptance
inspection criteria shall be based on the following: measurement of at
least of all the noted dimensions; use of fixture G276969-1. Fixture
shall be placed along radome flange a minimum of 5.30 inside of flange
edge (both ends) as shown in section A-A and also be placed at
approximate center of radome. Radome interior contour is acceptable if
fixture does not touch it when laying against radome flange and
surface of radome is no more than .125 from surface of fixture. Also,
there shall be no more than .060 variance with all three measurements
taken into account. A minimum of a confidential security clearance is
required. A firm fixed price contract will be awarded utilizing
Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Delivery is required 10 months or
sooner after issuance of award, with shipping terms FOB Destination,
NAVSURFWARCEN DIV, Crane, IN. Inspection and acceptance of the unit(s)
shall be performed by a representative of DCMC at source, prior to
shipment. FAR part 12 procedures do not apply. The Government intends
to award to the responsible contractor whose quotation is the most
advantageous to the Government considering price and price-related
factors. The offers will be evaluated on the following factors:
Technical specification compliance, past performance and price.
Technical specification compliance and past performance are equal, and
when taken together are significantly more important than price. The
Contractor shall provide past performance for same/similar
products/specification with other Government Agencies, public or local
Government for the past three years. All responsible sources may
submit an offer with will be considered by the agency. The Request for
Quote will be issued on or about 2 July 1999. Quotes are due no later
