survey is being conducted to identify firms to provide Maintenance and
Technical Support to Air Force Technical Applications Center (AFTAC).
The general scope of this effort is to provide engineering and
logistic efforts to resolve complex or unusual technical problems
encountered at field locations worldwide; operate/maintain subsurface
systems composed of sensors (e.g. seismic, hydroacoustic, digitizer,
authenticator, GPS, and weather), and interasite communications (e.g.
cable plant, radio data links, telephone lines, and microwave links);
operate and maintain computers and their operating systems (e.g. UNIX
and LINUX), power and grounding systems, and long haul communications;
ability to deploy worldwide; upgrade and/or modify existing United
States Atomic Energy Detection Systems (USAEDS) equipment and
infrastructure to meet AFTAC mission requirements. A contract type has
not been determined at this time. A one-year basic contract period
plus six one-year priced options is contemplated. Security clearances
are required. The applicable SIC code and size standard are 8711 /
$20M. Firms responding to this synopsis should provide experience in
the form of an outline of previous projects for specific relevant work
completed or currently being performed including contract experience
of personnel identified to perform the work; and any other pertinent
information which would enable the government to assess your firm_s
capabilities. Conflict of Interest rules may apply which would prohibit
participation in related acquisitions. Firms must respond to this
announcement within 15 calendar days from the date of publication.
State whether firm is small, disadvantaged, woman-owned, 8(a), Native
American, HUBZone, or HBCU/MI. The government reserves the right to set
this acquisition based on the responses received. Firms responding will
be notified of the results of the capabilities assessments. This
synopsis is for planning purposes only and does not commit the
government to pay for the information requested, issue a solicitation,
or award a contract. No technical or solicitation documents exist now.
