This is a modification to the sources sought synopsis number SS-306 entitled the "Mars Airplane Package (MAP)" procurement which was posted on June 14, 1999. You are notified that the following two changes are made. (1) In the first paragraph, the last sentence is modified to add the word, "powered" in front of the word "flight". The sentence as modified reads as follows, "A MAP will be installed in a Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL)-developed spacecraft and launched on an Ariane 5 Launch Vehicle in 2002 for entry and powered flight in the Martian atmosphere in 2003." (2) The second change is in the sixth paragraph from the bottom of the synopsis. The parenthesis should not include "women owned small businesses". The paragraph as modified reads as follows: "While this request is seeking information and capabilities from all interested parties, NASA is also seeking capabilities from small and small disadvantaged businesses (which includes Historically Black Colleges and Universities and Other Minority Institutions) and women owned small businesses for the purposes of determining the appropriate level of competition and/or small and small disadvantaged business subcontracting goals." The due date for receipt of capability statements is not extended.
