The Defense Threat Reduction Agency has a requirement to perform a radiological survey of the main island of Johnston Atoll. DTRA is responsible for the management and operation of the Plutonium Contaminated Soil Remediation Project on Johnston Island (JI). The goal is to remediate the Radiological Control Area (RCA) and the rest of the Island in a responsible manner that protects human health and the environment and is acceptable to the regulatory community and the public. Under this effort, the successful offeror will perform a radiological survey of the main island and the buildings on JI. Disposal of all contractor produced radioactive waste is also a requirement under this effort. It is the intent under this effort to include options for the movement of iron piles, equipment, concrete piles, "hot pile" material, and "clean pile" material. Other options intended are additional earthmoving, and a final RCA survey. The contemplated period of performance is 24 months.
