Contracting Officer, janet.elm@usda.gov. The U.S. Department of
Agriculture, Food Safety and Inspection Service (FSIS) is seeking
sources to provide medical consultation and examination assistance to
evaluate the health effects reported by FSIS employees and to conduct
examinations or tests of FSIS employees as necessary. FSIS will provide
the identity of the chemicals and biologicals to which the employee may
have been exposed and a description of the conditions under which the
exposure may have occurred. The contractor must demonstrate proficiency
in the evaluation of exposures to chemical and biological agents from
either inhalation or dermal routes with emphasis on both the
development of chemical sensitization and irritation of the respiratory
system, eyes, throat, and skin. In addition, FSIS is seeking assistance
in determining if employee complaints are based on occupational hazards
or public health conditions. FSIS will provide any available medical
documentation, industrial hygiene reports, and a description of the
signs and symptomsthat the employee may be experiencing. The contractor
shall possess the minimum qualifications listed: (1) Doctor of Medicine
degree (MD); (2) Master of Public Health degree (MPH); (3) Residency in
Occupational Medicine; (4) Board Certified in Occupational Medicine;
(5) Experience practicing as an Occupational Physician; (6) Experience
with occupational chemical sensitization, chemical allergies, and
multiple chemical sensitivities especially to chemicals producing
occular and respiratory irritation responses. The contractor shall be
located within 30 miles of the USDA Beltsville, Maryland Office
