The Industrial Operations Command has a requirement to purchase two (2) agitated explosive melt kettle systems consisting of two (2) melt kettles with a nominal 180 gallon capacity, agitator controls, and high level warning systems. The melt kettle system shall be manufactured in accordance with specifications AED-03-99 and AED-04-99. Melt kettles shall be capable of processing molten Trinitrotoluene (TNT), Composition B (Comp B), and Tritonal. All components of the melt kettle exposed to molten explosives or steam shall be type 304 stainless steel. Components NOT exposed to molten explosives or steam may be carbon steel. The melt kettle system shall be heated by steam pressure not to exceed 15 psig working pressure with a 250 degree working temperature. Delivery is FOB Destination, Tooele Army Depot, Tooele Utah. First article testing will be required. This acquisition shall be conducted on a full and open competitive basis. A firm fixed price contract is anticipated. The final contract award decision may be based upon a combination of price, past performance, and other evaluation factors as described in the solicitation.
