The USAE, Engineering Research and Development Center (ERDC) proposes to issue a sole source contract to ASC Scientific, Carlsbad, California, for the purchase of one Barington MS2 Magnetic Susceptibility System. The Barington MS2 system is the only known one of its kind that allows both laboratory and field measurements of magnetic susceptibility. Procurement of this system is critical to the Corps of Engineers' Unexploded Ordnance (UXO) Research and Development Program and ASC Scientific is the only known distributor for this system. A firm-fixed-price contract will be awarded utilizing the Simplified Acquisition Procedures. Any other responsible source able to provide this item is encouraged to respond to this announcement within 15 days after its publication.
